Will Elon Musk's Tesla the New Cybertruck Be Good for the Environment?

Wednesday, February 05, 2020

With unanimous gasps and dazed appeal, the world was acquainted with Tesla’s most recently debuted vehicle, the Cybertruck. The Cybertruck is an all-electric pick-up truck that soon became very polarising. The launch of this stainless steel body pick up truck didn't go smoothly. The window of the truck shattered when smashed with a metal ball by its lead designer.
Regardless of the bumpy launch, the revolutionary Cybertruck received 250,000 pre-orders within a week. Such an outbreaking welcome with no advertising, and a tragic grand opening event is perhaps phenomenal. This proves that this truck has the potential to be a state-of-the-art pick up truck and a new revolution. The futuristic looks of it are loved by all.

Electric vehicles have reached a new level of public acceptance around the world. More than five million electric vehicles were sold in the year 2018 globally. Tesla has combined many supreme technologies into one offering in the  Cybertruck.
  • Features hardcore stainless steel body
  • Characteristic Lithium-Ion  Batteries
  • Self-Driving software and hardware abilities
  • Sun Roof

The Cybertruck is a blessing for the environment. The gasoline engines have an efficiency between 15-20 per cent, However, the conversion of electrical energy into power in an Electrical Vehicle is around 60 per cent. Thus, electrical engines have a performance advantage over gasoline engines and fewer carbon footprints.

The cybertruck is relatively less efficient than passenger Electric Vehicles(EV) because of its weight and size. However, when compared with pick up trucks available in the market, the intrinsic efficiency of the electric motors and aerodynamics are better in Tesla’s Cybertruck.

The environmental advantages of EVs are significantly evident. The benefits are not just recruited to driving pleasure, EVs bestow quieter, inexpensive and cleaner ride in all weather conditions
  • Lesser pollution: The electric vehicles have zero exhaust emissions, thus helping to reduce harmful air pollution.
  • Economical to run: The amount of electricity is around 33 percent of petrol per kilometre for the same vehicle.
  • Cheaper to maintain: V2G engines have fewer components than a gasoline engine. So limited servicing costs are involved.
  • Promotes the use of Renewable Energy: The use of renewable energy to recharge the electric vehicle can reduce greenhouse gas emissions even more.
  • Eco-Friendly Materials

EVs are vastly becoming a kernel component of transportation future offering both economic and environmental advantages. They procure the possibility to reduce carbon emissions. Tesla's CyberTruck comes with Vehicle-to-grid technology, allowing it to use engines bi-directionally. It could be used to store energy during instances of over-supply and furnish supply during peak demand hours.

What makes CyberTruck a hit? The key components make this EV a successful venture is
Tesla has an extensive network of charging stations allowing users to refuel easily. With more than 14,000 superchargers across the globe, Tesla has an edge over its competitors.

Primarily, Tesla is known to have invested in battery technology, their innovation is unsurpassable. They are invested in using renewable energy to reduce the environmental stress of carbon emissions. With the warm welcome received by the Teslas CyberTruck, it is evident that the world is ready to accept a larger transition away from internal combustion engines to robust V2G technology. Sustainability is going mainstream and Elon Musk is ahead of the game.
