Designers have put their best foot forward
when designing fashion pieces for this year’s fall season. In the last few seasons, we have seen a
comeback of the 70s and the 90s fashion pieces flooding the fashion scene. In
fall fashion for 2017, the 80s have made a bold comeback. Let’s take a look.
- · Volume and size
Some of the famous 80s fashion themes that
have made a comeback include the shoulder
pads, oversized blazers, and many more voluminous pieces. However, unlike the 80s
there are no outrageous neon colors and other fun
pieces.
- · Velvet
Velvet used
to be luxurious fabric in yesteryears. It has
made a big comeback this fall season and showing up on many runways across the world. The most
striking varieties are jeweled toned options.
- · Checks and plaids
Checked prints will create a lovely match for
many pieces this fall season. The checked coats were favorites for most of the
fashion designers. In addition to the outerwear, plaids were also present in
the other pieces such as the dresses and tops.
- · Fringe and feathers
The 2017 fall season will be the era of
fanciful trimmings. Feathers are back proudly and bold. Big brands such as
Calvin Klein and J.W Anderson create superb pieces that make the model lovely
feathered creatures. In addition, brands like Pucci, Michael Kors, and Prada made plentiful of
colorful strings and fringes.
- · Handmade embroidery
The
fashion designers also borrow a leaf from the traditional embroidery designers.
Several runways have witnessed crafted embroidery as part of the fall runway.
One of the most eye-catching pieces this fall is patchwork pieces done at Acne
and Coach as well as church pew pillows created by Alexander McQueen.
- · The lady in red
Red is not
fading from the fashion scene anytime
soon. Fashion designers have recreated lovely dresses, tunics, and tops in red.
Brands such as Prada, Versace, Fendi, Monse, and Giambattista Valli have
created sensational red looks to grace this fall in style.
- · The power suit
The power suits are not just for men in the recent
onslaught by the fashion designers Max Mara and Celine have led the way in
creating wonderful suits that give the wearer a sense of prestige and power.
They come in black and gray hues.
- · The space age concept
This futuristic
concept will take the world by surprise this fall season. Silver was the highlight of most of the futuristic pieces
with a touch of metallic look and inspiration from space exploration. J.W.
Anderson and Mugler leads in this awesome fashion concept.
