Bathroom cleaning is perhaps one of the hardest task in your cleaning list, particularly cleaning the toilet, but you know what makes it even harder is using chemical cleaning products for such purposes. These cleaning products mostly include Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that are not just toxic for your health but also for the environment. As per a report of  United States Environmental Protection Agency, disclosure to VOCs can cause eyes, nose and throat irritation, nausea and at times even lead to cancer. When used in bathroom, these chemicals go down the drain and negatively affect the marine life along with resulting in water pollution. Therefore, to avoid the harmful consequences of such products, you can also opt for eco-friendly ones but keep in mind that they are quite expensive. However, there are some easy tips you can use to make your own cost-friendly cleaning agents from regular ingredients available at your home. Let’s see how you can clean up your bathroom using green and home-made bathroom cleaning solutions.

1.     De-Stain Your Toilet

To lift the grumpy stains from your toilet, you just have to mix half cup of vinegar with small amount of baking soda and squirt it into the toilet. Wait for few minutes then scrub the toilet from inside and wash it off with water, you will be surprised to see the results.

2.     Clean the Sink

To wipe off the dirt and grease from your bathroom sink there is nothing better than lemons. You just have to cut a lemon and pour some salt onto it. Rub the sink with this salty lemon and clean it with wet cloth. This solution not only makes your sink shinier but also spreads a pleasant smell in your bathroom.

3.     Unclog Your Bathroom Drains

Unclogging the bathroom drain is quite a challenging cleaning task as pulling out the hard grease and hair makes you feel queasy. But, what’s better than dissolving this by a quick home-made solution. Take half cup of vinegar along with a cup of baking soda and put it into the drain. Let the mixture do its work for 25 minutes as it will naturally break down the grease. After that flush it out with a bucket of hot water and you are done.

4.     Shine Your Faucets

To get rid of watermarks from your bathroom faucets there are different home ingredients you can use. You can rub the faucets with lemon or vinegar, rinse with water and dry them with a soft towel to give them a shiny look. Moreover, you can use olive oil for extra shine but only a few drops of it as you definitely not want to make the taps slippery.

5.     Mop Your Bathroom Floor

To make your bathroom tiles sparkling clean, you just have to mop it with a mixture of baking soda, hot water and lemon. It will remove the soap scum and hard water from your bathroom surface along with eliminating the dirty bathroom smell.
